What do educators say?

My first grade students were introduced to Rhyme'n Time Phonics mid-year as a pilot. The series of books were appealing to all my students, struggling and fluent readers. The "word chunking strategy" and word families grouping by vowel sounds aided students in sight reading an extensive list of words in a short amount of time. They felt successful in reading the phonics word list and were motivated to read the stories. My students were attracted to the storybooks because of the animal theme. Most soon experienced a feeling of competence in reading the text.

I found that the simple themes did lead themselves to extended response writing activities for my students. For example Zat the Rat in the Party Hat! lead to a great classroom discussion and personal writing responses about birthday parties and gifts. A subject all first graders, even the most advanced readers, are vitally interested in!

My students responses about the series of books included comments like, "the books are funny, great to color, readable, and interesting." Considering the wide range of ability levels in my class the consistent response of all students was, "Is there another one after this! We like these books." When students are that motivated they will learn and become better readers. The goals of the educators of emergent and fluent readers are realized and enhanced.

What do parents say?

I just wanted to pass along to you with the reading kit you have put together. It has been so helpful with Paige's reading skills. I have never seen such a dramatic improvement in such a short amount of time! When I gave the books to Paige to read, she finished one in just a matter of minutes and wanted to read all the books that night! The bold print on specific words is a great idea and helped her connect similar words. You have done a fantastic job with these books!!!! Anyone who is wanting to improve their child's reading ability does not need to look any further. Thank you so much!

I bought Rhyme'n Time Phonics for my five year old son who was behind in his reading. He was showing signs of dyslexia. This opportunity has helped us out. He didn't want to read before this. Rhyme'n Time Phonics is a big motivational activity. He reads some and then he gets to color what he has just learned.

Thank you for helping us experience an opportunity of a fun way to learn.

I gave Rhyme 'n Time Blue to my 4 year old daughter after she learned the alphabet.  In only 3 readings of the first story, she has taken a major leap forward in her ability to recognize words and patterns.  The rhymes are fun and fast and she loves coloring the pictures.  In less than 2 weeks her ability to read and comprehend has jumped markedly.  She now requests that we play the cd while we are driving and she quotes the first story completely from memory.  I am excited to see how much improvement she shows by the time she finishes both books.
